Scuba diving

Another passion in my life is suba diving. I started diving when I was in my early 20's.

I have done my PADI Open Water Certification in the Netherlands, and meanwhile I'm allowed to call my self a Rescue Diver, with over 150 open water dives logged all over the world, from Cyprus to Cuba, from Bali to Egypt, lately I dive in the Netherlands too, where the underwaterworld is stunningly fabulous sometimes too.

Currently I'm working towards my 3* NOB certification. Next step is moving on to Dive Master level in order to advance to an Instructor Level in due course.

Meanwhile, I bought an underwater photo camera, and I'm trying to find my ways in making great pictures of the amazing marine life I find during my dives. You can find my underwater snapshots in this section of my website; Some day, I might call them photo's, but so far, I don't dear to call myself an underwater photographer. I am more an underwater enthousiast, trying to get to know more about the amazing world that is to be seen below sea level.

Over 70 % of our planet is water, earth isn't called the blue planet for nothing, you know? So why not explore the big blue sea, as it is so beautiful ? Whereas in the Netherlands it's generally about small fish, I've been in Maldives where I found manta rays, a whaleshark and loads of whitetips and nurse sharks during our liveaboard on Stingray. In Egypt we find turtles, moray eals and many blue spotted stingrays and the coral is beautiful. Returning to Maldives would be a dream come true, it was an amazing experience to dive with manta rays, 30+ nurse sharks and a whale shark.

So there is a lot to discover out there, and I'm going the extra mile to get there. I hope you enjoy my pictures as much as I enjoyed making them.

Feel free to revert back some time, as the gallery will be updated regularly with new photo content.
